Eastleigh community invited to give back at volunteer fair

Community First, a leading local charity, is calling any budding volunteers in Eastleigh to attend its volunteer fair on January 23.
The event will be hosted at the Pavilion at the University of Southampton Wide Lane Sportsground, offering an exciting opportunity for local organisations to connect with potential volunteers.

From 4pm to 7pm, attendees can explore a variety of roles and find their perfect fit for making a difference in their community. Just some of the roles available in and around Eastleigh include youth work, catering assistants, van drivers, customer service, administrators, environment conservation and events support.

25 organisations will be promoting their volunteering roles including Citizens Advice Eastleigh, School Governor Services, Telegraph Woods Nature Recovery Group, Youth Options and Healthwatch.

Tim Houghton, Chief Executive of Community First, said: “Volunteering is a fantastic way for people of all ages to support the community, meet new people, and even learn new skills.

“There is a common misconception that volunteering is only for the retired or unemployed, but anyone can make a difference, even if it’s for an hour a week. Whether it’s part of your New Year’s resolution, work experience to add to your CV, or simply a desire to give back, this fair is the perfect chance to take that first step on your volunteering journey.

“We’re excited to bring together local groups and individuals who share a passion for positive change.”

The volunteer fair is free to attend and refreshments will be provided. Parking is available on site. Simply turn up on the day or reserve a free ticket via Community First’s Eventbrite page.  Find out more at https://www.cfirst.org.uk/volunteeringnews/eastleigh-volunteer-fair-2025/
