Botley News – June 2025
With thanks to Cllr Chris Cooper – Chair of Botley Parish Council for this update.
This month’s update from the Parish Council covers two topics. The first is an update on the Botley Neighbourhood Plan. At the time of writing, the referendum date is to be confirmed. As a community we are close to being able to endorse or decline the Neighbourhood Plan.
Botley Parish Council Gazebo on Botley High Street.

The surgeries will run up to the referendum date. For more details about Botley’s Neighbourhood Plan go here: https://botley-pc.gov.uk/neighbourhood-plan/
Revels on the Rec
When: June 21st from midday until 10pm.
Where: Botley High Street Recreation Ground.
A few paragraphs about this year’s Revels on the Rec by providing a bit of insight into how the event is put together.
The planning for this year’s Revels started in Autumn 2023. We knew we were giving the Rec a year off from 2023’s successful event, but we wanted to learn from that event and do a few things differently and some the same. Once we picked the date, we started booking some key assets such as the stage, screen and headline bands.
Revels could not be the scale it is without the support of our sponsors. This year’s gold sponsor is CCW Services (https://www.ccwservices.co.uk ) a local Botley business who will be showing off one of their super trucks in the Botley Centre Car Park. Thank you, CCW Services. Our raffle Sponsor is Wisteria Wealth Management. Also, thanks to White & Company and Rod Gaskin Ltd who are both sponsoring bands. I thank all our sponsors for their support.
This year’s Revels due to a range of reasons has the event and safety management being delivered by RSWSound Ltd. This is alongside their superb audio and visual production we enjoy. Another change this year is using Dream Empire Events to run the market and on field operations. Dream Empire have assembled some great local stall holders, along with a broader food range, entertainment for all the family including inflatable laser quest, a dog show, plus old favourites including face painting, inflatables and a mobile farm. Our friends at Fairthorne Manor are coming this year with a Climbing Wall, Fire Pits and Axe Throwing. Plus, the school PTAs are laying on a variety of stalls. Thank you partners and Botley Parish team for all your hard work.
The day will be raising funds for six local charities/groups via a raffle on the day with a top cash prize of £300! The beneficiaries of any funds raised are Alphabets preschool, All Saints Church, FOBS (Friends of Botley Primary School), Boorley Park Primary School PTA, Botley Market Hall and Botley Neighbourcare.
The stage has entertainment from 1pm with live music from Bills of Mortality (from Deer Park school), John Yale Music, then the Sing Now Choir, One Man Festival Band, Davey Jones Locker, Groove Lemons and finishing with our returning headliners The Jays. All the Botley pubs and tap rooms will be represented, with a dedicated marquee to sit and watch the world go by.
One new addition this year is a free bus service provided by Mayflower Transport, the service will be running on a loop every 30minutes from 1130 through to 1030pm. The route includes Kings Copse Avenue, Woodhouse Lane, Kingsman Drive, Wallace Avenue, Maddoxford Lane, Winchester Road, Winchester Street and Botley Village. Please note there is no disabled parking available at the Botley Centre.
Botley Parish Council looks forward to welcoming you to the High Street Rec on Saturday 21st June.
