Neighbourhood Plan Update
We wanted to share an important update on the draft Neighbourhood Plan.
During the recent Neighbourhood Plan consultation phase, the Environment Agency raised an objection to Policy 7. Although the policy was updated and they removed their formal objection tick in the box, their written response still included the word “object”, which counts as an objection from a statutory consultee. Because of this technical objection and other factors including the length of time the examination has taken, the examiner stated that he could not continue the examination any further.
He gave the Council two options:
1️⃣ Conclude that the plan does not meet the basic conditions and cannot go to referendum, or
2️⃣ Withdraw the plan from examination.
After careful consideration, the Parish Council reluctantly chose to withdraw the draft plan. This gives us the opportunity to make the necessary amendments and updates before resubmitting it early this year. It was resolved at the Council meeting held on Tuesday 13th January 2026, that we would re-submit the Neighbourhood Plan as soon as it is ready.
We will provide a further update once available.
